Bartlesville Rotary in Action
Memorial Bridge
The Bartlesville Rotary Club undertook the restoration of this historic bridge in 2005 as a Rotary Centennial Project. The classically designed bridge, built in 1925, was sound and well-used but had suffered a great deal of cosmetic deterioration. Starting with a club and individual member donations of about $30,000, the club leveraged its contribution into nearly $230,000. The funds provided for a complete restoration and enhancement of the bridge and the construction of a bridge overlook with interpretative signage along the Bartlesville’s Pathfinder Pathway bike-and-walking path. The project was completed and community dedication held in September, 2006.
